On May 13, during the 2026 China International Battery Fair (CIBF) in Shenzhen, Lead Intelligent Equipment (hereafter referred to as LEAD), a global leader in intelligent manufacturing solutions for the new energy industry, officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as Beijing Humanoid), China’s national-level embodied intelligence platform.
The partnership, whose efforts are based on the prevailing trend of advancing new quality productive forces, brings together LEAD’s extensive expertise in industrial manufacturing and the Innovation Center’s cutting-edge embodied AI technologies to accelerate the large-scale deployment of humanoid robots in industrial production environments. By driving the transition of humanoid robots from laboratory research to real-world manufacturing applications, the two parties aim to reshape the future of the new energy and advanced manufacturing industries.
Mr. Wang Lei, CEO of LEAD Group, along with senior executives from the Beijing Humanoid , attended the signing ceremony.
As global manufacturing enters a new phase of transformation, embodied intelligence and human-robot collaboration are emerging as key drivers of next-generation industrial upgrading. Traditional manufacturing is rapidly evolving toward greater intelligence and flexibility, while the new energy sector—with its complex processes and demanding operating conditions—requires highly adaptable intelligent systems capable of replacing repetitive and high-risk manual tasks. Humanoid robots, with their human-like operational capabilities and flexible adaptability, are increasingly viewed as a critical solution to these challenges.
Having spent years at the forefront of advanced manufacturing for the new energy industry, LEAD has built deep expertise across the entire industrial value chain, including equipment technologies, process know-how, and large-scale industrial deployment. The company possesses a profound understanding of manufacturing pain points and strong capabilities in production line integration and mass delivery.
Established in November 2023, the Beijing Humanoid was officially designated in October 2024 by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Beijing Municipal Government as the National and Local Co-Built Embodied Intelligence Robot Innovation Center. As China’s first innovation center dedicated to embodied intelligence robotics, it has developed full-stack core technologies spanning humanoid robot systems, underlying software and hardware architectures, and embodied foundation models, positioning itself as a leader in technological innovation and ecosystem development.
With highly complementary strengths and closely aligned strategic objectives, the partnership marks the beginning of a new chapter integrating intelligent manufacturing equipment with humanoid robotics. Moving forward, the two parties will collaborate across four key areas:
1. Integrating Industrial Scenarios to Accelerate Commercial Deployment
Leveraging extensive experience in new energy manufacturing, the partners will develop integrated solutions combining advanced equipment and humanoid robots. The goal is to bring embodied intelligence into real production environments, expand applications across advanced manufacturing sectors, and enable end-to-end human-robot collaboration in production logistics, equipment maintenance, and operational workflows.
2. Building a Digital and Intelligent Foundation for Industrial Applications
The two organizations will jointly establish industrial data acquisition platforms and intelligent iteration systems tailored to both general industrial and new energy manufacturing scenarios. By combining large-scale process action libraries with embodied AI foundation models and machine vision technologies, they will advance imitation learning and generalized training capabilities, enabling robots to meet the stringent requirements of industrial environments in terms of precision, takt time, and operational stability.
3. Driving Industry Standards and Ecosystem Development
The partnership will also focus on jointly defining industry standards for humanoid robot hardware and software, addressing existing gaps in standardization while fostering an open platform for technological innovation and industrial services. Through broader industry collaboration, both parties aim to support the standardized, scalable, and ecosystem-driven development of the embodied intelligence sector.
4. Empowering Mass Production Through Advanced Manufacturing
Leveraging LEAD’s strengths in high-end intelligent manufacturing equipment, the partnership will accelerate the mass production and commercialization of humanoid robot components and complete systems. By applying mature industrial manufacturing capabilities, LEAD will help strengthen the supply chain foundation of the humanoid robotics industry and support its large-scale growth.
Looking ahead, LEAD and Beijing Humanoid will continue to push the boundaries between intelligent manufacturing and embodied intelligence. Through technological innovation, the two parties aim to strengthen the foundations of next-generation productive forces, enabling every advanced production line to be equipped with both a “smart brain” and “dexterous hands,” and opening a new era of human-robot collaboration and intelligent manufacturing for the new energy industry.
